Jaclyn holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology (Providence Theological Seminary) and Master of Arts Degree in Human Services (Liberty University). She is an Associate member of the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors & Psychotherapists. She is presently in the process of meeting the requirements for the designation of Provisional Registered Psychologist from the College of Alberta Psychologists.
Jaclyn works with clients presenting with anxiety and depression as well as grief and trauma. She also works with couples conflict, abusive relationships, co-dependency, and addictions.
Jaclyn integrates therapeutic approaches to meet clients’ needs and concerns. She makes use of Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Gottmans Couples Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy along with other approaches.
Jaclyn’s approach to counselling is based strongly on the therapeutic relationship and she believes that change is made through relationship. She embraces a non-pathologizing approach to counselling and believes in the intrinsic ability of every individual to heal. She has confidence that at the core of every individual is a center that is trustworthy, resourceful, and capable of self-understanding and self-direction.
